Sedation

Inhalation Sedation

Commonly known as “laughing gas”, nitrous oxide is a safe and mild sedative administered through a small mask placed over the patient’s nose. It induces a state of deep relaxation, reducing anxiety and making the dental experience more pleasant. One of the significant advantages of nitrous oxide is its quick onset and recovery time. After the procedure, patients can resume their regular activities without any lingering effects, making it an ideal choice for those with busy schedules.

Oral Sedation

For patients with more intense dental anxiety, Angus Dentistry offers oral sedation. These medications induce a deep state of relaxation, often leading to drowsiness. While patients remain conscious during the procedure, they experience reduced awareness of their surroundings and potential discomfort. In some cases, patients may not recall the treatment at all.

IV Sedation

When a patient is undergoing extensive dental treatments, intravenous (IV) sedation can be administered by a Board-Certified anesthesiologist. This method of sedation prevents our patients from feeling any pain, while the presence of a highly-trained anesthesiologist underscores our dedication to providing the highest level of care.
